Games Anniversary Program

Every Olympian’s journey leaves a lasting mark on the Olympic Movement, extending far beyond their time on the field of play. Our Games Anniversary program is an opportunity to celebrate and thank Team Canada Olympians for their contributions to sport, their communities, and the legacy they continue to build long after competition. It serves as a reminder that once an Olympian, always an Olympian.

On significant milestone anniversaries of an athlete’s Olympic participation, the Canadian Olympic Committee recognizes Team Canada Olympians with a commemorative package that includes a keepsake gift and a personalized postcard carrying a message of celebration and appreciation. By recognizing these important milestones, we honour the achievements, sacrifices, and impact of Team Canada Olympians while encouraging them to embrace and share their Olympic legacy with future generations.

Through Games Anniversaries, we celebrate not only the memories of the Games, but also the lifelong connection Olympians have to Team Canada and the enduring influence they continue to have within their communities and across the country.

MONTREAL 1976

2026 marked a historic milestone: the 50th anniversary of the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games — the first time Canadian athletes competed at an Olympic Games on home soil. As we prepare to honour this landmark moment, we are working to reconnect with as many Team Canada OLYs who took part in the 1976 Games as possible.
